Classic stones that are solid and will hold up well.
Something with color that will be beautiful.
I would try a new material, one that might be lighter and easier to move, but based on my designs could prove very sturdy.
I would use a material that is readily available so that my workers didn’t have to struggle to acquire it.

Absolutely! A castle must be well defended.
Only what’s necessary.
Definitely not. It interrupts how the castle looks.
Probably not the standard moat or arrow slits, but I’d try to include some way to keep people safe.

It’s not practical to have so many people, so it would be limited to the very elite.
