Exercise and diet…they’re always mentioned in the same breath, but do you really know how yours are connected? Maybe you’re looking for a new workout routine, or maybe you just want to start moving your body for the first time, but a great place to start when you want to find a new plan for shaking that booty is your diet: it can tell you a lot about the kind of activity that will suit you best.
So spend some time looking at the food you put in your body. Let’s prep some meals! We’ll look at your day from breakfast to that last before bed snack, and by the time we’re done we’ll know exactly what you should put on your schedule to get your body movin’ and groovin’. Even if you just want a suggestion for something new to add to your rotation, we’ve got you covered, and we promise that you’ll love the plan we create.
How often do the ingredients quinoa, kale, or acai get featured in your recipes?
- Literally never.
- Probably most days.
- I’ve certainly tried them before, but I try not to let any ingredient dominate my meals.
- I don’t love them, but sometimes I try to make myself eat them because I know they’re good for me.
- I prefer more basic fruits and veggies, personally.
How far in advance do you usually do your meal planning?
- I plan my full week each Sunday.
- I usually have an idea of what I’d like to make for the week when I go grocery shopping on the weekend, but I stay flexible.
- I don’t do much planning. I go with what sounds good on any given day.
- I don’t really cook much, so meal planning is pretty minimal.
- Someone else plans my meals for me.
You've got a free afternoon on a weekend and you could cook a nice meal. What do you make?
- I take a long brunch and call it a day.
- I find a new paleo recipe I’ve been meaning to try, something that will give me tons of leftovers for the week.
- Some truly amazing meat.
- I find the recipe with the weirdest ingredients I can and test that!
- I take the time to make my grandma’s awesome recipe, plus a pie for dessert.

How often do you add a dessert to your meals?
- It really varies based on my mood.
- Only special occasions.
- Maybe a couple times a week.
- I don’t really do desserts.
- Every day. Every meal. Dessert always.
You know you're not going to have much time to cook one night. How do you handle it?
- Crock pot time!
- I make something a few days ahead of time and save leftovers.
- Time to order some pizza.
- I’ll stop at a restaurant and pick something up. Great chance to try that new place I’ve been eyeing.
- I’ll just make a sandwich.
You're heading out for work and need to grab something for lunch. What do you do?
- I’ll make a salad.
- Probably leftovers from the night before.
- I switch up lunches a lot. Sometimes I bring leftovers, sometimes I make something, sometimes I buy at work.
- Ham and cheese my friends, ham and cheese.
- I’ll just buy something at lunch time.

- Pancakes or waffles!

How often do you try new recipes?
- I rarely use the same recipe twice.
- Fairly regularly: maybe once a week.
- Every couple of weeks, although I definitely have a lot of good standbys.
- Almost never.
How many elements do you usually include in your meals?
- I like all in one dishes.
- I try to keep it simple, so usually just one main, and if I’m ambitious I’ll add a carb or a veg.
- I try to have a few different things in every meal to keep it balance. Protein, carb, veg.
- As many things as possible!
