So by you yelling “Expecto Patronum” your Patronus will act as a sort of shield that will come between you and the Dementor. In order to unleash your Patronus, you have to think positive and think about all of the things that you love and cherish. Dementors feed upon happiness, love, and hope. Each Patronus is different depending on the witch or the wizard. Your Patronus can also change! Harry Potter’s Patronus is a stag, Dumbledore’s is a phoenix, and Snape’s is a Doe!
